Overview
As vehicle inspections become more technology driven, drones have now become an effective way to document damage quickly and accurately. By combining commercial UAVs with Quidient’s advanced approach to Generalized Scene Reconstruction (GSR), inspectors can create accurate digital models that capture every angle of a vehicle. (Even the smallest hail dents).
Unlike traditional inspections that rely on stationary arches and manual measurements, drone captures are exceptionally adaptive and save countless hours spent in the capture and post-capture processes. All while producing extraordinarily precise and measurable digital twins.
You can see Reality Models™ produced from UAV captures in the video below.
Reality Models™
Reality Models™ can be captured using handheld cameras, smart phones, commercial drones, custom camera rigs, and most other mobile devices. During the capture process, the UAV follows an automated flight path designed to capture every visible surface of the vehicle. The video is combined with Quidient’s Plenoptic Condensation™ technology to reconstruct a highly detailed digital model that accurately represents the vehicle’s geometry and condition. Reality Models™ are beneficial for inspectors to detect and measure dent sizes, generate detailed damage reports, and reduce the need for repeat inspections.
